Lets Give The Bees a Hand

Lets Give The Bees a Hand

Hi there, my name is Brittney. I am a second-generation beekeeper and I’ve been a RipFix customer since 2012.

As a beekeeper, I have a profound love and admiration for all things bees and what they do. They are the most fascinating insects on the planet and we depend on them more than we even realize. Their efficiency is unmatched and the power of these tiny creatures is truly astonishing. In their short lifespans bees impact our food supply with pollination, maintain our biodiversity and best of all, they offer their gifts of healing. Honey, a compound that will never spoil, holds one-of-a-kind healing properties and can sustain life nutritionally. Bees also create beeswax, which is used for many topical salves and offer antimicrobial wound healing. Humans have been using honey and beeswax for thousands upon thousands of years.

Even in our modern world, nothing can be created in a lab that will match the natural wonder of what a bee can create. Whether you’re consuming honey to treat allergies or using products like RipFix, adding honey and beeswax into your repertoire of recovery is highly recommended.

Beekeeping dates back to the dawn of humanity with archeological finds dating back 8,000 years. Cultures such as Ancient Egyptians were known to cherish honey as it was found in multiple tombs and depicted in hieroglyphs. They valued honey and beeswax in their health, beauty and culinary practices. They even advanced agricultural development and harnessed the power of bees.

Cultivating bees has continued into modern day and it is still as important as ever. The long-standing relationship between humans and bees is pretty remarkable. Bees create the most extraordinary of all natural products and the history of the world certainly proves it.

Bees create honey by collecting nectar and pollen from flowers and using a process called proboscis to convert it into honey. The enzymes of a bee’s stomach are what breaks the nectar down into liquid gold. Honey offers so many benefits to the human body, from consumption to even topical wound healing. Honey’s therapeutic uses can be attributed to its concentration of flavonoids, phenolic acid, polyphenols as well as antimicrobial properties.

According to the National Library of Medicine, “The natural properties of honey as well as its active compounds are crucial for the wound healing process. Natural honey is a viscous fluid; its jelly consistency creates a surface layer over the wound that inhibits the entrance of bacteria and protects the wound from dehydration.” The ability for the honey to create a barrier and keep bacteria out and hydrated is crucial for a speedy and easy recovery. This is why honey is included as an important component in RipFix -- Offering the power of honey to help hands across the planet.

Beeswax might not get as much praise as honey, but let me tell you it is another amazing gift from the bees! The process to create beeswax starts with a worker bee ingesting a large amount of honey. The bee's body processes the sugars from honey into wax that comes out of 8 different glands on the abdomen of the bee - fascinating!!! From there, the bees use this wax and form it into hexagon shape to store brood, honey and bee bread.. And beeswax holds the same antimicrobial and anti-cancer properties as honey.

The texture of beeswax is perfect for melting and using in skin salves and it is a  healthier option for at-home candle burning. Beeswax is another amazing ingredient in RipFix; it creates a protective barrier that does so much good. A thick, protective barrier is necessary when tending to cracks, rips and cuts that one can get doing everyday tasks such as gardening and yard work; exercise and lifting weights, farming, auto repair, frequent hand washing and other activities that dry your skin.

Every day the bees, along with humanity, face damaging environmental toxins. Over the last 10 years, I have really tried to reduce my toxic load and research the ingredients of the products I put on my skin and consume. The less ingredients the better. The more natural I can go, the better.

Honey also makes the perfect natural pre workout, without the chemicals and additives. I truly believe in products like RipFix and their mission to offer the customer something clean - and it works! I use this healing salve for everything from dry or sunburned lips to rips and cracked heels on my feet. Knowing that it contains honey and beeswax is probably why it’s my favorite and most trusted product in my cabinet.

Taking care of your body from the inside and out with bee products is the power move of 2025! Thank you for reading and learning about how bees can help us heal. Don't forget to get a tin of RipFix for your car, home, and gym bag -- Your hands won’t regret it!
